A day with the locals – Ruzafa

Would you like to escape the tourism of Valencia? It is possible! The trendy Ruzafa district is a 10-minute walk from the city center of Valencia. Even better: SingularStays also rents apartments here! In Calle de Buenos Aires you will find Parque Central. You can easily spend a day here, because there is plenty to see and do in this fun, but still relatively undiscovered neighborhood! I give you some tips in this blog.

A delicious way to start the day is of course breakfast! In Ruzafa there are numerous cafes where you can enjoy a fresh orange juice, sandwiches and coffee in the sun. Around Mercado de Ruzafa you can find a number of terraces, but highly recommended is Dulche de Leche in Calle de Cuba. They have so many tasty cakes, sandwiches and drinks that you will definitely come back again. Enjoy!

When you’ve finished your delicious breakfast, it’s time for some activity. In the same street as Dulche de Leche, Calle de Cuba, you will find Ciao Bike. A fun way to discover Valencia is by bicycle. It is even better in combination with a bike tour! This is what Ciao Bike offers. In a few hours you bike along the most beautiful places in Valencia.

After a long bike ride, it is time for something to eat! In Ruzafa there are plenty of options for cozy and affordable food.

  • Fancy a pizza? Take a look at La Finestra. In Calle de Vivons, next to Mercado de Ruzafa, you will find this small restaurant. For a few euros you can order all kinds of small pizzas. Good to know: you cannot make a reservation. After about 20:00 it is very busy, so be on time!
  • Would you rather have tapas? El Camerino is located in Calle del Cura Femenía. This hip tapas restaurant has several menus to choose from.

But: don’t be afraid to ‘get lost’ in this nice neighborhood! After all, you will find the nicest restaurants if you are not looking. Especially in Calle de Sueca and Calle de Cádiz (and all side streets!) The choice is huge. Have fun!
