1.      Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias

This is one of the most famous highlights of Valencia. It has a difficult name, but it means the City of Art and Science and is also known as the “Modern City”. Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias consists of six parts: Oceanografic, L’Hemisferic, L’Umbracle, Museo de las Ciencias, Palau de les Artes and the Agora. It is a beautiful futuristic part of Valencia with a lot of water around all buildings and you can do a lot here. The perfect place to take nice photos for Instagram and Facebook! Information about what to do there can be found on the website of Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias.

2.      Mercado Central

The most famous market in Valencia: The Mercado Central. The market is centrally located in the city, where you can go shopping from Monday to Saturday, from 7:30 AM until 15:00 PM. Even if you do not need anything, this market with a versatile range of products is worth a look. The Mercado Central offers fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, bread, but also many nuts, cheese and delicacies. Not only the products are worth seeing, but the building itself is also very beautiful. Do not forget to look at the ceiling when you are inside!

3.      Catedral de Valencia y El Miguelete

The Valencian Cathedral was built according to different styles, as a result of the conquests over the years. There is a lot to see inside the cathedral, such as the main altar and the chapter house. The high Gothic bell tower is called El Miguelete. To have a beautiful view over the city, you can climb this tower.

4.      La Lonja de La Seda

La Lonja de La Seda is an historic building, which was built between 1482 and 1533. This beautiful building was used for the silk exchange. Today, the building is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are many richly filled orange trees in the courtyard of La Lonja and the building has impressive details and parts from Spanish history. In addition, the location of this large building is perfect: opposite from the Mercado Central. Good to combine!

5. Torres de Serranos

The Torres de Serranos are two interconnected towers that used to serve as access to the city of Valencia. The towers can be climbed and will give you a breathtaking view over the city.
